ACCA Lecture Series | Unlocking Multi-dimensional Growth: From Professional Starting Points to Limitless Possibilities

On the afternoon of November 19, 2025, Mr. Cui Siliang, Deputy Director of Zhuhai Branch at Pan-China Certified Public Accountants and an ACCA member, was invited to BNBU to deliver an inspiring and insightful talk to students. Drawing from his personal career transitions, frontline industry experience, and insights into future talent trends, Mr. Cui shared a compelling perspective on alternative pathways in the modern Accounting profession. Before the talk, Dr.Sun LIU, Head of the Department of Accounting, presented a commemorative gift to the guest on behalf of our University.

During his speech, Mr. Cui shared his unique career journey. While still in university, he completed nine ACCA papers, laying a solid foundation for his professional development. Unlike the traditional career path in Accounting, Mr. Cui began his professional journey in the sports industry, working as a golf coach. However, during the pandemic, the sports training industry faced significant challenges, prompting him to make a pivotal career change. Leveraging the professional knowledge gained from ACCA, he successfully transitioned into the accounting profession, joining a Accounting firm and embarking on a new chapter in his career. Starting from an entry-level position, he participated in various projects, including auditing and taxation, gradually building cross-disciplinary skills. He emphasized that career development is never limited to a single path, and the key lies in continuous learning and adaptability.

When addressing the highly topical issue of artificial intelligence (AI), Mr. Cui shared his candid perspective: "AI will replace mid-level talents before it replaces newcomers. In the future, those who can utilize AI will replace those who cannot." Drawing from his experiences, he encouraged students not to resist technological advancements but to embrace and leverage them as tools to amplify their abilities. He urged students to adopt a proactive attitude toward learning and using technology, positioning themselves as multi-skilled professionals.

The talk concluded with Ms. Wu Minhang, ACCA South China Education Relations Manager, introducing ACCA’s global presence and professional value. With members and students in over 180 countries and regions, ACCA is recognized as one of the most prestigious qualifications for international finance professionals. Ms. Wu also elaborated on ACCA’s exemption policies and study pathways, helping students plan their future professional development more clearly.

After the lecture, the atmosphere remained lively as many students stayed behind to engage in one-on-one discussions with Mr. Cui. They sought advice on certification, internship opportunities, and cross-industry career transitions. Mr. Cui patiently answered their questions, encouraging them to stay curious, take action, and find their own rhythm in career development.

The lecture not only provided students with practical insights into their future but also highlighted the importance of continuous learning, diverse exploration, and embracing change in the AI era as the most reliable paths to growth.
