On 6 May 2026, the Faculty of Business and Management successfully hosted the ACCA Business Talk: “New Directions for Accounting in the Digital Intelligence Era” at T2-306, attracting students interested in the future of accounting and career development.

The event featured Mr. Chen Dongsheng, Executive President of Shenzhen ZTE New Cloud Services Co., Ltd., as our speaker. Drawing on over two decades of experience in financial management and digital transformation, Mr. Chen shared insights into the evolution of the accounting profession from the “manual era” to the “information era” and now the “digital intelligence era.”

The talk explored topics including ERP systems, financial shared services, RPA, large language models, and AI technologies. Mr. Chen highlighted how accounting professionals are increasingly shifting from routine accounting tasks toward data analysis, strategic support, business partnering, and value creation.

Following the talk, Ms. Wu Minhang, ACCA South China Education Relationship Manager, introduced the evolving competency model for future accounting professionals and shared ACCA’s latest developments in digitalization, AI, ESG, and employability-focused education.

An interactive Q&A session allowed students to engage directly with the speakers on topics such as AI-driven transformation in accounting, career planning, and future skill requirements. The event also featured a lucky draw, with ACCA-themed gifts presented to participating students.

Through practical insights and real-world industry perspectives, the event provided students with a deeper understanding of emerging trends in the accounting and finance profession and the competencies required in an increasingly digital business environment.
