People's Bank of China

I now work in the People's Bank of China Lincang Branch, responsible for investigation and statistics.

Four years have passed quickly. In the days in UIC, I not only learned professional knowledge and gained great friendships, but also acquired the ability of teamwork and the spirit of never giving up. I have learnt to become a self-disciplined and self-strengthening person in UIC. In four years, I have been to the all-night study rooms many times, as well as the discussion rooms that need to be booked one or two weeks in advance. There are so many excellent peers of mine and all of them work extremely hard. Now, I will continue to work hard at my new job, with all the excellent qualities that UIC has taught me in my new journey!

M.A. in Economics, The London School of Economics and Political Science

After four years' study in UIC, I now move on to the London School of Economics and Political Science for a master's degree in Economics. Thanks for the life in UIC, I am looking forward to being a member of LSE. “Perseverance” helped me throughout my four years of study in UIC. UIC’s fast-pace learning environment helped me to learn how to manage my time efficiently while there are many tasks, and how to plan for my future study and future job. Although economics may not teach me the ideal job skills that matched perfectly to my future job needs, it enables me to understand the rules of operation of the society and the meaning behind economic policies. Therefore, I am eager to continue my research in this area.

M.A. in Economics, Johns Hopkins University

I love the free and tolerant atmosphere in UIC. The liberal arts education cultivates open-minded and well-rounded talents. We are free to choose the courses we like and explore our interests. The study schedule in Applied Economics is tight. Students spend most of their time on study. Teachers emphasize the application of model in real life which makes classes lively and interesting. I feel very lucky to study in UIC, I had learned my favorite knowledge of economics, and learned the operation of society from the perspective of economics. Finally, I would like to say that you will find your answer from where you spend most of your time.
