From 23 to 29 September 2026, the Faculty of Business and Management at Beijing Normal–Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU) launched the Global Expansion Strategy Programme for Business Leaders at the BNBU London Centre. Designed for business leaders with international ambitions, the programme used London—one of the world’s leading hubs for finance, commerce and innovation—as an immersive learning environment. It aims to equip participants with sharper strategic perspectives, more robust decision-making frameworks and actionable plans for global growth in an increasingly complex international landscape.

The programme is structured around five interconnected modules addressing the most pressing issues in international expansion. Participants will explore how to leverage Hong Kong’s role as an international financial centre to develop financing and risk-management strategies; gain an understanding of UK regulations, company law and compliance practices for cross-border investment; examine the strategic logic, market-entry choices and sources of competitive advantage for Chinese enterprises going global; strengthen cross-cultural leadership, organisational coordination and innovation capabilities; and consider the new opportunities created by AI agents and blockchain-enabled cross-border digital financial infrastructure. Together, these modules connect capital, law, strategy, organisation and technology to address the real-world challenges of global business expansion.

The programme brings together distinguished experts in finance, law, international business and the digital economy. Speakers include Dr. Henry Hau, an international finance professional with more than 20 years of market experience; Ms. Wei Wu, Partner in the Corporate Division at Shoosmiths; Professor Mario Kafouros, Chair in International Business and Innovation at the University of Manchester; and Mr. David Lam, an expert in digital finance and regional economic development. Through intensive small-group discussions, participants will engage directly with leading practitioners and scholars to unpack critical strategic decisions in globalisation.

Learning extends well beyond the classroom. Participants will visit global financial institutions including StoneX Group and Federated Hermes, gaining first-hand perspectives on global payments, risk management, asset management and responsible investment. A traditional British dinner at the historic Oxford and Cambridge Club provided an opportunity for in-depth exchanges with local business representatives. The programme also included visits to the British Museum, Windsor Castle and the University of Oxford, inviting participants to reflect on the institutional, cultural and historical foundations that continue to shape today’s global business environment.
