o WRDS empowers us with access to a vast array of datasets, equipping our faculty and students with the resources to conduct robust, interdisciplinary research.

2. Compustat Subscription

o Compustat consolidates detailed financial and market data starting from 1950, broadening our research capabilities in accounting, finance, economics, management, and its cognate fields.

o Essential for research in finance, economics and accounting, CRSP's comprehensive historical market data (starting from 1926) provides valuable insights for our academic community.

4. Datastream & Worldscope Subscription

o Datastream‌:

Datastream is a comprehensive financial database providing real-time and historical market data, including equities, bonds, commodities, and macroeconomic indicators, widely used for investment analysis and academic research.

Its advanced analytical tools enable users to perform complex financial modeling, risk assessment, and portfolio tracking across global markets.

o ‌Worldscope‌:

Worldscope offers detailed company financials, industry benchmarks, and executive compensation data, covering over 45,000 public firms worldwide, primarily serving corporate finance and equity research.

The database integrates balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow metrics with standardized classifications, facilitating cross-country comparative analysis.

5. CSMAR Subscription

o CSMAR (China Stock Market & Accounting Research Database) is a comprehensive financial research platform covering Chinese securities, macroeconomics, and corporate data, widely used for academic and quantitative analysis. Developed by Shenzhen CSMAR Data Co., it provides standardized and structured datasets comparable to global databases like CRSP and Compustat.

At present, the WRDS platform is open for FBM faculty registration. Should any FBM student require access to these databases, they are encouraged to coordinate with their course teacher or FYP/project supervisor to get in touch with the Faculty Administration Office for account activation.

Guidelines on the [WRDS Account Registration Process] are as follows:

1. Eligibility: Applicants must possess a personal email address bearing the domain "@bnbu.edu.cn".

2. Visit http://wrds-web.wharton.upenn.edu/, fill in and submit your registration details in the "Register" section. Please note:

(1) Under "Institution", choose "Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College".

(2) Fill in your First Name and Last Name in English.

(3) Please use your personal email address ending with "@bnbu.edu.cn".

3. Once your registration is approved by the administrator, you will receive an email containing a link to set up your password. Once set, you will be able to access the WRDS platform.
