Dr. Ming Zhang is an Associate Professor at the School of Management, Shenzhen University. He received his PhD from South China University of Technology in 2020. Dr. Zhang’s research interests focuses on corporate strategic management and international business, with a strong interest in set-theoretic methods such as Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA). He has published over ten academic papers as the first author or corresponding author in renowned domestic and international journals, including Journal of Management World (管理世界), Journal of Management Science in China (管理科学学报), China Economic Quarterly (经济学(季刊)), Management and Organization Review, and International Business Review. For two consecutive years, Dr. Zhang has been recognized as among the "Top 1% Most Cited Scholars" by the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI).
Abstract:
This lecture covers three main areas: (1) a brief introduction to the trends in the application of QCA methods in academic journals worldwide; (2) an in-depth elaboration on the fundamental principles and operational steps of QCA methods; and (3) a presentation of a QCA-based paper, followed by a reproduction of its results using the original data.
Teachers and students who intend to participate are welcome to register by scanning the QR code. Relevant materials and software installation packages will be sent to the registered email address prior to the lecture.
Participants are advised to bring their own computers. During the session, Dr. Ming Zhang will conduct on-site practical demonstrations and provide one-on-one guidance.
